Troubleshooting draw.io
As the online draw.io editor at app.diagrams.net is a web application, you will sometimes come across issues with browser caches and cookies.
- Clear the diagrams.net and draw.io cache to update to the latest version.
- Enable third party cookies in your browser to be able to save your diagram data to your browser cache.
- If your diagram failed to save properly to the browser, you don't need to lose your edits. Here's how to access the XML source of the diagram and manually save it to a new file.
Authorisation problems
Authorisation is done between your browser and the cloud platform where you store your files. Authorisation and login problems are rare, but they can happen.
- Browser extensions: Some browser extensions can get in the way of authorising applications to use the cloud platform, including some of the popular ad-blockers. Try disabling any browser extensions, and authorising the editor again.
- Cookies: Make sure you have enabled third-party cookies in your browser. If there are still problems, delete all Google-specific cookies in your browser, and re-authenticate.
- Google Workspace: If you are using draw.io with Google Workspace, as an administrator, set Allow users to install Google Drive apps in your Workspace administration settings. If you are still having issues, first revoke access then re-authenticate using these permissions.
