Legacy layouts

The layouts dialogs have been reworked recently with new algorithms to more neatly arrange your diagram on the drawing canvas.

You can still use the older layouts via the Legacy Layouts in the draw.io menu.

1. Click Arrange > Layout > Legacy Layouts, then select the diagram type and layout you want to use. Alternatively, click the + icon in the toolbar, then select Layout and select the layout you want to use.
2. Your diagram will be rearranged to match the layout you had chosen.

The legacy layout algorithms are not as refined as the current layouts and may not result in a well organised diagram.

Tip: Alternatively, you can build a diagram quickly by inserting a layout via Arrange > Insert > Layout, or use automated layout shapes for diagram portions within a container shape.
