Find and use extra icon sets

More than 1,000 extra icon sets — cloud and infrastructure providers, product logos, flags, UI icon packs and more — are published at icons.diagrams.net. These sets don't ship inside the draw.io editor itself, but all of them are searchable, and each one can be added to the editor as a custom shape library on any platform.

Search and browse the catalog​

Browse or search all sets at icons.diagrams.net. Each set page shows a preview of its icons, the license and author, an Install link, a Download library.xml link, and a configuration snippet for administrators.

In the online editor, searching for shapes also searches the extra icons — matching icon sets are suggested alongside the results, and one click adds a suggested set to your shapes panel.

Add a set in the online editor​

  • Click Install on a set's catalog page to open the set in app.diagrams.net as a custom shape library, or
  • click a suggested set in the shape search results.

The set stays in your shapes panel until you close it, and its icons appear in shape search results just like built-in shapes.

Use a set in the draw.io desktop app​

The desktop app runs offline, so it doesn't search the extra icons — but any set can be used as a library:

  1. On the set's catalog page, click Download library.xml.
  2. In the desktop app, select File > Open Library from > Device and choose the downloaded file.

The set appears in the shapes panel and its icons are found by shape search. The library file references its images at icons.diagrams.net, so the desktop app needs network access to display them.

Preconfigure sets for your organisation​

Administrators can make sets available to all users by default with the defaultCustomLibraries configuration key — each catalog set page shows the exact snippet to copy. Licenses​

Each catalog set page states the set's license and author, and the same attribution is embedded in the library file itself. Check any restrictions before using icons commercially.
